In January 2011, Johnmichael, a driver for Eagle Cabs in Fairbanks, was assaulted and robbed by a fare, who left him badly injured. The Fairbanks GLBT community stepped up to help him with medical and living costs at a time he couldn’t work. Now Johnmichael is thanking the community with a series of fundraisers, beginning with a Hamburger & Hotdog Fundraiser for the Interior Aids Association on Saturday, June 9.
Kristara is back in Alaska for Pride with “Kristara Live and in the Raw,” a show to benefit the Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Alaska and Alaska Pride Fest, Saturday, June 9 at Mad Myrna’s. Featuring Alaska’s finest entertainers, and co-emceed by the all time favorite Mikey LaChoy.

The Fairbanks & Interior peer-to-peer transgender support group is meeting this Thursday, June 9, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Fairbanks (UUFF). Meetings are open to anyone who identifies as transgender, genderqueer, gender-questioning, gender-bending, or friends/family members/supporters.
