Please join Juneau Pride Chorus for a Concert in the Park this Friday, June 23 at Marine Park — the first of three great Pride events this weekend in Juneau.

This will be the chorus’ last performance before the GALA Choruses International Festival in Denver in July, which he chorus has been preparing for since last August. It will  be the biggest event the Pride Chorus has ever attended: 175 choirs and ensembles, over 200 performances, and 5000 delegates in a four-and-a-half-day festival. Per the Pride Chorus Facebook page,

We are all “over the top” excited to be going to Denver. What the heck, Friday looks great weatherwise, and cookbooks will be available.

Cookin’ With Pride, the Juneau Pride Chorus cookbook, is available for $15.00 from chorus members. If you can’t make the concert,send a message with your email or phone number if you’d like delivery.

The appearance is part of Juneau’s summer Concerts in the Park series sponsored by the Juneau Arts Council, Holland America Line Inc, and the City and Borough of Juneau. Other performers at this night’s concert will be Hillbilly Honeys (folk bluegrass) and Daughters of the New Moon (bellydance). Juneau Arts Council notes that the risers that previously provided seating at the park have been removed, and recommends that audience members bring their own lawn chairs — or dance! The arts council will also bring a limited number of lawn chairs that people can use for a contribution.
