2012 Anchorage Relay for Life at Cuddy Park — Friday, June 1
The 2012 Anchorage Relay for Life will take place on Friday, June 1 at Cuddy Park. Dezi DoAll LaChores is participating: sponsor her to help raise funds for the fight against cancer.
Dezi writes:
According to research listed on the American Cancer Society’s website, cancer rates are continuing to climb in Alaska, particularly among women and Alaskan Natives.
I’d say it’s about time to bring those numbers back down! The Anchorage Relay is THIS weekend, and YOU can help! By following this link, you can make a donation that not only helps sponsors me walking, but also raises money for research, treatment options, support, and brings EVERYONE one step closer to finding a cure.
No matter who you are, there’s a place for you at Relay. Each dollar you raise will help save lives. How far will you go to make a difference in the fight against cancer? Your reasons for walking in the Relay For Life are as unique and special as the story that motivates you. This is your opportunity to not only honor cancer survivors and remember people we have lost, but also to raise funds and awareness to help save lives. Because of your support, we are creating a world where cancer can’t claim another year of anyone’s life. You are helping create a world with less cancer and more birthdays!
Relay For Life (often shortened to Relay) is the main volunteer-driven cancer fundraising event of the American Cancer Society. Originating in the United States, the Relay For Life event has spread to 21 countries. Relay events are held in local communities, campus universities, military bases, and in cyberspace. Although the main objective of Relay is to raise money for cancer research and cancer patients, the event is held to spread cancer awareness, celebrate the lives of survivors, remember those who lost their lives to cancer, and unite a community in the fight against cancer.
