Juneau Pride ChorusPlease join the Juneau Pride Chorus for their annual concert, “Come Walk With Us,” this Saturday, April 21, at the Juneau Arts and Culture Center. The concert is sponsored by PFLAG Juneau and the Pride Foundation.

A silent auction will begin at 6:30 PM, followed by the concert at 7:30 PM. Cayenne Blue will perform the opening set.

The Juneau Pride Chorus is raising funds to attend the GALA Choruses International Festival in Denver, Colorado in July 2012. Organizer Mary Graham told the Juneau Empire that the chorus has been preparing for GALA since last August: it will  be the biggest event the Pride Chorus has ever attended: 175 choirs and ensembles, over 200 performances, and 5000 delegates in a four-and-a-half-day festival.

Gay and Lesbian Association of Choruses (GALA Choruses) is a partner in  building and supporting the GLBT choral movement. Many of its member choruses exist as lone voices for gay/lesbian equality in their communities. Juneau Pride Chorus, founded in 1997 as an offshoot of Juneau PFLAG, is its only member chorus in Alaska.
