Changes at Bent Alaska

Moving datInstead of illustrating this post with the traditional “under construction, pardon our dust” graphic, we picked one that illustrates “we’ve moved, & we’re still unpacking.”

Yes, Bent Alaska has moved. Don’t be alarmed! — we’re still at the same URL, www.bentalaska.com, but we’ve switched our blogging platform from Blogger to WordPress, and our hosting service has changed as well.  Some of you may already have noticed some of the design changes (still in progress).  A few broken links (working to fix ’em).  And other stuff.

What other stuff?  Well, we’ve now got a Facebook page to supplement the Facebook profile Bent has already had for awhile.  What’s the difference?  Think of our profile as our living room, where we can invite our friends in for coffee & private conversation that we share only amongst ourselves. Our page, on the other hand, is our part of the public square, where we can share whatever we have to say (& invite any and all of our friends to come along with us) with everyone, whether or not they’ve befriended us, or even “like” us at all. (But naturally, we’re hoping you’ll “like” us.)

We’ve also joined Twitter so that all our friends in the Twitterverse will have an easier time sharing our news with their own social circles.  Please follow us @bentalaska.

Bent Alaska is also happy to welcome Mel Green as co-administrator.  Longtime Bent readers will know Mel as a sometime contributor to Bent Alaska; she also has her own blog at Henkimaa.com.  Bent Alaska continues to be administered by its owner and founder, E. Ross.

We’ve still got more work to do to get things sorted out on our new blogging platform.  And as so often happens when there’s been a big move, we’ve fallen a bit behind on the work that we set up this blog to do.  So pardon the mess while we scramble to catch up.

We’ll continue to refine and, we hope, improve Bent Alaska.  Thanks for sticking with us.
